Educazione Motoria Adattata (E.M.A.)
The sports offer of CUS Pavia includes some routes designed and created for people with disabilities.
Education because, as per etymology, one of the purposes of this activity is to “BRING OUT” from each individual, through movement and play, those personal resources and characteristics that will lead him to achieve the maximum possible autonomy.
Motor in that movement is also understood as a social opportunity offered to subjects of different ages, intellectual, physical and relational abilities.
Adapted as the training is programmed and personalized in real time in order to enhance everything in each participant that is not compromised by the presence of a handicap.
In general, this activity is aimed at athletes who have an intellectual-relational disability starting from the age of 12. Our technicians, with years of experience in leading sports groups of athletes with disabilities, undertake the commitment to shape the sports proposals so as to be able to work on the different general and individual objectives of the participants.
The course, which has been active since 2004, has always taken place at the central PalaCus gym in Pavia, on Thursday afternoons between 3.30pm and 5pm.
The lessons are set by qualified technicians, kinesiologists with degrees in Adapted Preventive Motor Sciences and who possess specific pedagogical skills in the field of intellectual-relational disabilities. During the hour and a half of practical activity, we aim to use movement in all its forms to achieve the following objectives:
• Preventive and Therapeutic
• Training
• Socio-relational
• Psychomotor
• Sportsmen
The fundamental principle on which the proposed disciplines hinge is that of mutual ADAPTATION. The athletes must perform the exercises proposed by the technicians in the best possible way who, in turn, must be able to shape the instructions on the individual participants, to allow not only motor but holistic work, in order to make the activity always motivating and inclusive.
