Sport Climbing

WHO WE ARE
PalaCUS is one of the very few city sports facilities where there is an area equipped for sport climbing. The first nucleus of the climbing wall was positioned at the turn of the 90s thanks to the commitment of some CAI members. Sport climbing immediately achieved considerable success and the number of practitioners increased year after year: today they exceed one hundred with a clear prevalence of young people and university students.

The section has been affiliated with FASI since 2017.

WHAT WE DO
The section currently organizes youth courses (8-18 years) and courses for adults (from 18 years).
The basic courses for adults are dedicated to those who have never climbed. Those who have taken a basic climbing course can sign up for the advanced course or those who already have the necessary technical knowledge can access the climbing wall by signing up for the free activity.

DISCIPLINE
Sport climbing can be defined as the indoor mountaineering: it arises from the need to train during bad weather, at night or in locations far from the mountains. Over time, climbing has found its own identity, thanks to artificial facilities equipped with increasingly complex routes, making climbing competitions possible. Climbers also continue to love the natural environment and it is not uncommon to see many of them climbing on natural cliffs or walls using the specific techniques of this new discipline.

Information on activities for the 2025/26 season will be available approximately towards the end of July.
