Athletics
WHO WE ARE
Athletics is one of the most practiced disciplines among the Italian CUS and the origins of our section date back to 1946, the year of establishment of the CUS Pavia.
CUS Pavia Atletica carries out competitive activities in both the men’s and women’s sectors, participating in track competitions, competitions and cross-country running races.
The section has been affiliated with FIDAL since 1946.
Competitive activity begins at the age of 12 with competitions in the youth categories (ragazzi/ragazze category) and from the age of 16 you can join the teams that participate in the absolute activity.
At the federal level, CUS Pavia Atletica participates in the Society Championships in all categories and university athletes can take part in the spring CNU.
Alongside competitive activity, the section organizes an intense introductory activity aimed at younger people (from 6 years old) thanks to the organization of specific courses.
For adults who wish to get closer to running there is the Running School: a practical course dedicated to technique and training programmes.

DISCIPLINE
Athletics is a set of disciplines: doing athletics means running, jumping and throwing, that is, learning to best use the three most important patterns underlying human movement.
In addition to running and walking, in fact, athletics includes high jumps (high and pole), extended jumps (long and triple) and throws (shot, discus, hammer and javelin).
Those with strong multilateral skills can try their hand at multiple events, the Decathlon and Heptathlon, which reward the athlete who obtains the best overall result.
Athletics is the discipline suitable for everyone.
Information on activities for the 2025/26 season will be available approximately towards the end of July.
